Oversee and Manage department resources are working in a safe environment both in the office and at the project job sites.
Lead and manage the development, implementation, and audit of the use of department and company processes, procedures, and standards.
Manage the execution of projects within estimated budgets and schedule.
Develop and maintain a department training and development program for all engineering and designers.
Mentor and coach entry-level engineers and designers within H+M's EPC Training Program.
Responsible for engineering and design quality.
Lead the development of project estimates, schedules, and budgets for the department.
Understand and lead routine research and development recommendations for materials selection with supportive material.
Oversee the design of pipe support systems including material selection, B31.1/B31.3/ ASME Section I and Section VIII Code calculations, stress analysis, etc.
Ensure design compliance with respective client/company specification and codes.
Provide direction and coordination to prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
When required, check and back check drawings produced by design personnel.
Support designers and engineers from other disciplines in a team environment to create multi-discipline construction documents.
Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
Essential Qualifications
15+ years in piping engineering and design with a minimum of 5 years of direct management experience.
Engineering degree preferred (not required)
Experience in the EPC industry working on oil, gas, chemicals, terminals, and pipeline projects.
10+ years of experience working with CADWorx/AutoCAD.
Experience leading small to mid-sized capital projects.
Experience in developing, checking, and approving piping engineering and design drawings and documents.
Thorough understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices.
Thorough understanding and the effective use of piping engineering specifications and pipe stress analysis.
Knowledge and understanding of the industry piping codes and standards and plant specific standards.
