Fully Optimized Modular Fabrication & Assembly

When considering modular construction for your next capital project, working with an expert industrial EPC company with over thirty-five years of experience and in-house fabrication capabilities can be vital to streamlining your project, keeping costs low, and finishing on time.

Our trained engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction teams have extensive experience bringing complex industrial modular projects from concept to successful completion across industries. No matter the size or scope of your project, our fully integrated teams can engineer, procure, and fabricate your project to the exact specifications needed.

H+M’s Modular Fabrication Shop

  • Modular fabrication involves performing construction in a controlled environment, eliminating common on-site delays caused by weather, scheduling conflicts, lack of workforce, and other unpredictable factors that can interrupt operations.
  • Our modular fabrication shop spans over 40,000 sq. ft. of totalspace, with 5,000 sq. ft. of covered assembly space, and 12 acres of lay-down area for materials on our Corporate campus.
  • We self-perform fabrication services, enabling us to strictly monitor and uphold the highest levels of safety and quality.
  • Our fully streamlined fabrication process can help minimize unnecessary expenses and reduce financial outlays.

H+M’s Modular Fabrication Shop Advantages

Dedicated Laydown Yard

Our large laydown area is critical for properly storing and staging modular components before assembly and transport.

Shelter Structures

Shelter structures are used for assembly when needed, protecting specialty equipment and ensuring uninterrupted work regardless of weather conditions.

Access to Freeways/Interstates

Our proximity to major transportation routes ensures that modules can be easily transported, reducing logistical complexities and potential delays.

Access to Waterways/Strategic Partnerships

Direct water access to nearby ports can significantly expand your transportation options, particularly for larger modules.

Material Handling Equipment

Lifting and handling machinery, including forklifts and cranes, is used to load and unload modular components.

Dedicated Modular Assembly Crew

H+M’s specialized teams ensure consistency, speed, and quality in module assembly, allowing our shop to meet client specifications and timelines effectively.

Logistics Experts

H+M’s coordinators manage the safe and timely delivery of modules, particularly when modules need to be transported over long distances.

Flexible Shop Space

Our well-designed, adaptable workspace allows the shop to adjust quickly to meet diverse client objectives, whether the project involves small skids or larger truckable modules.

Advanced Fabrication Technology

We utilize the latest equipment—such as plasma pipe profilers, welding systems, and 3D modeling software—to ensure precision, speed, and overall project efficiency.

Crane and Lifting Capabilities

Our modular fabrication shop has heavy-duty cranes (e.g., a 35-ton crane) to handle larger, more complex modules.

H+M’s Modular Fabrication Certifications

ASME Sec VIII Vessel Design and Fabrication

ASME Section VIII sets requirements for the design, fabrication, inspection, certification, and testing of unfired and fired pressure vessels that operate at pressures exceeding 15 psi.

API 1104

API 1104 sets standards for producing high-quality welds, welding procedures, materials, and equipment. It also prescribes requirements for inspection methods used to ensure the proper analysis of welding quality by qualified technicians.

ASME B31.3, B31.8, and B31.4

ASME B31.3 sets requirements for piping used across several types of industrial projects, including, but not limited to, petroleum refineries and semiconductor, textile, pharmaceutical, and cryogenic plants. It sets standards for the materials and component usage, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping.

ASME B31.8 sets requirements for gas transmission and distribution piping systems, such as gas mains, compressor stations, and service lines. It also includes gas transmission and gathering pipelines installed offshore to transport gas from production facilities to onshore locations. It also includes closed-pipe gas storage equipment forged or fabricated from pipe and pipe fittings and gas storage lines.

ASME B31.4 sets requirements for the design, materials, construction, assembly, inspection, testing, operation, and maintenance of liquid pipeline systems between production fields and facilities, tank farms, above- and below-storage facilities, natural gas processing plants, refineries, pump stations, ammonia plants, terminals (marine, rail, and truck), and other delivery and receiving points. In addition, it sets requirements for pipelines transporting liquids within pump stations, tank farms, and terminals associated with liquid pipeline systems. It also prescribes requirements for piping transporting aqueous slurries of nonhazardous materials, such as coal, mineral ores, concentrates, and other solid materials.

NBIC code certificates for R, S, and U

The R Stamp is awarded by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI). This stamp allows manufacturers to repair and alter pressure-retaining equipment.

The U Stamp certifies that a manufacturer meets quality control system requirements specified in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). This allows manufacturers to design, fabricate, inspect, and test unfired pressure vessels.

The S Stamp allows manufacturers to fabricate ASME-compliant pressure-retaining parts, power boilers, and power piping. It requires the use of a quality assurance program that meets ASME standards.
