Lead front-end process engineering design efforts for FEL and early project phases, ensuring alignment with client goals and project requirements
Serve as the primary technical point of contact associated with process design for clients during project development, offering expertise and building strong client relationships
Facilitate and participate in client meetings, understanding client needs and translating them into actionable engineering deliverables
Prepare and review Process Engineering deliverables, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances, and equipment datasheets
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality work and professional growth
Manage project timelines and budgets
Provide timely and accurate internal reporting of project progress, compiling weekly reports for the Process Engineering Manager
Interface with clients, third-party contractors, and internal engineering departments to ensure cohesive project development
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering required.
10 years’ Process Engineering design experience with a strong focus on front-end projects
Proficiency in developing and reviewing PFDs and P&IDs, with a deep understanding of their role in early-stage project development
Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner
Experience with equipment sizing and specification for pumps, heat exchangers, process vessels, and compressors
Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS and other process simulation tools to develop preliminary design concepts and validate project feasibility
Experienced in relief valve sizing and Flare system design
Ability to develop instrument Process specifications for items such as control valves, transmitters and flowmeters
Proficient in system hydraulics and line sizing for single phase liquids and gases and multiphase lines
Attend PHA/HAZOP reviews and provide technical input
Leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and foster a collaborative working environment
